A retired Sergeant of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) early Monday morning shot and killed his former lover, her son and her son’s father at their home in Manchester.
The policeman, 58-year-old Osbourne Whitton, then turned the gun on himself.
Reports out of Melrose Mews in Williamsfield, Manchester are that a policewoman, 43-year-old Corporal Bevon Hutchinson- Anderson; her spouse, 45-year-old Rohan Shaw and her 12-year-old son, Keinon Shaw. were shot dead shortly after midnight.
It is reported that the incident stemmed from a love triangle.
The policewoman, who was attached to the Mandeville Police Station, was at home with her son and his father.
The ex-policeman, who is said to have had a love affair with the policewoman, entered the house to which he had a key.
He allegedly went into a rage and pulled a firearm and shot all three persons killing them on the spot,
It is reported that Whitton took early retirement from the force three years ago.
Monday morning’s incident comes two weeks after a similar incident involving a member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
On April 7, Corporal Wayne Llewellyn killed four members of his wife’s family before taking his life.
His wife sustained a bullet wound to the neck and is recuperating in hospital.
