Cops seize Mavado’s vehicle; entourage member critical

A police team which rushed to the scene of this morning’s shooting outside the Quad nightclub in New Kingston, has seized  the vehicle belonging to dancehall deejay Mavado.

The cops were seeking to prevent Mavado from leaving the area, after the shooting of a member of his entourage by the police.

However, the deejay reportedly fled in a friend’s vehicle after the incident in which he refused to be searched by a policeman, who was later attacked by Mavado and his crew. The policeman was reportedly hit several times in the face and subsequently fired a shot, hitting a member of Gully Gad’s crew.

Mavado, after fleeing the scene, later reported to the Constant Spring Police Station and filed a report.He was  told to report to the Half Way Tree Police Station.

Meanwhile, the condition of hte member of Mavado’s entourage who was shot by the police has been listed as critical.

The man’s name has not been released, nor has Mavado’s manager, Julian Jones-Griffiths sent out a statement on the incident.
