In an interview with chatychaty.com at the launch of Reggae Sumfest recently, Minister of Youth and Culture, Lisa Hanna, told us that everyday her office gets a new Jamaica 50 song.
“There are more songs than days in the year,” a smiling and relaxed CUlture Minister noted.
Asked about the Shaggy-produced song, On A Mission, she reiterated that it was not the official Jamaica 50 song.
According to the minister, a way would have to be found to choose a song to celebrate Jamaica’s Jubilee, and the idea was to “involve everybody” in the decision-making process,
The minister, looking elegant in a white maxi, with Jamaica colours peeping out at the collar, said the songs would be put up on the Jamaica 50 website, or the JIS website.
