Prisoner with highly contagious disease TB, escapes while at chest hospital for treatment

 

A prisoner who was being treated for the highly contagious Tuberculosis is now on the run. 

The police say Christopher Bowen escaped from police custody while being treated at the National Chest Hospital in St. Andrew. 

Bowen is on charges of illegal possession of firearm and robbery with aggravation. 

He is of dark complexion, medium build and about 180 centimetres (5 feet 11 inches) tall. 

At the time he eluded the wardens, he was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans pants and a black and white sneakers. 

The Matilda’s Corner Police report that about 12:15 p.m., while under the guard of Correctional Services, Bowen managed to remove his hands from handcuffs and escaped. 

The police are now pleading with his friends and relatives and other members of the public not to harbour Christopher Bowen, as he has a highly contagious disease and posses a threat to the public’s health. 

Anyone knowing of his whereabouts or with any information which may assist the police is being asked to contact the Matilda’s corner Police at 978-6003, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest Police Station.
