Jumi family,six time winners of the National Champion Farmers title at Denbigh ROBBED

Members of a prominent St. Catherine agricultural family are the latest victims of praedial larceny after gunmen raided their farm early Monday morning near Gutters in the parish.
The family owned and operated Cherry Farm, was robbed of several prized livestock valued at more than one point five million dollars.
Thirty thousand dollars in cash and two prized goats valuated at nearly one hundred thousand dollars were stolen by armed men.
The men reportedly gained entrance to the farm about 12:30 Monday morning.
Roy Jumi who hails from a long line of farmers, and who copped the title of National Champion Farmer on six occasions, at the annual Denbigh Agricultural and Industrial Show in Clarendon, recounts the robbery.
Mr. Jumi says the loss has set back his plans for farm expansion.
He added that special plans were underway in December for his prized cows.
The Old Harbour Police confirmed the robbery, however up to news time no suspects were held in connection with the incident.
