Shango Jackson's killer, Huey Gowdie remains behind bars

Huey Gowdie, the 38 year old director of Events2Events, who shot and killed Shango Jackson, Sparkles production manager, remains behind bars.

Gowdie, who is pleading self-defence in Jackson’s murder, will have to wait until August 15 to see if a judge will give the order for him to be released on bail.

The case came up in the Half  Way Tree Gun Court on Wednesday, August 8, which was the scheduled bail hearing. However, police investigators said they need more time to complete their probe into the shooting.

Reports are that on July 12, 2012, Shango Jackson had gone to his Beverly Hills home, where his estranged wife, Annette, also lives. She is reportedly the girlfriend of Huey Gowdie and the two are often pictured in public together.

It’s understood that shortly after his arrival an argument development between Shango and a man who was  at the house. A call was made and Gowdie subsequently turned up at the Shenstone Drive, Beverley Hills, residence.

During another argument Gowdie reportedly hit Shango three times in the face. 

Gowdie then allegedly pulled a firearm and shot Shango twice in the thigh and once in the left shoulder.

Frantic neighbours rushed to Shango’s assistance.

He was taken to hospital and pronounced dead. Reports are that Mr. Jackson was unarmed.

Gowdie is faces murder and possession of an illegal gun charges.

Meanwhile, the service to celebrate the life of Shango Jackson, the father of two,  took place at the Stella Maris Church in St Andrew on July 27.
