chatychaty.com: – Radio broadcaster Richard Burgess, popularly known as Richie B, the host of Hot 102 FM’s ‘Hot Mix’, has tendered his resignation from the station, a member of the CVM group confirmed to chatychaty.com on Friday night.
News of Richie B’s shock resignation was broken by Images Newsletter Friday evening in a blast stating that they had been “reliably informed that popular radio host Richard ‘Richie B’ Burgess today, tendered his resignation to HOT 102 FM in Kingston, Jamaica. The specific reason for his resignation is not known, but with immediate effect, he will no longer be heard hosting the HOT MIX.” According to the publication, efforts to reach Richie B proved futile.
Hot 102 is owned and operated by the CVM group, which also operates CVM Television. In an telephone conversation with a CVM representative on Friday, chatychaty.com was told that it “was too soon to tell” who would replace Burgess on the Hot Mix come Monday.
One thing is certain, however — the show must go on.
“Listen on Monday and you will definitely hear,” the source stated.
Speculation is rife as to what exactly led to the popular radio jock resigning in such a manner. Images Newsletter listed what they have termed “the facts”. See below:
- Earlier this week, shock jock Dr Kingsley ‘Raggashanti’ Stewart tendered his resignation from Linkup Radio, 93.5FM in NY. Is it a coincidence that Richie B tendered his resignation to HOT 102 FM a few days later? Enquiring minds want to know????
A few weeks ago, Richie B was spotted shopping in Miami. Could he be looking at opportunities in South Florida?
After 25 years as an on air radio jock, could the ‘Party Master’ be looking for a plush job as General Manager of a radio station?
Could a job as a TV host be in the cards?
There’s even speculation that he may be looking to explore business opportunities outside of radio.
Whatever his venture, chatychaty.com wishes Richie B all the best in his future endeavours.
